Fall Fashion

Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season to dress for.  Maybe it's because as a child I was deprived of real seasons (being from South Florida) but now that I am in Maryland, I am taking full advantage of the chilly weather and using it as an excuse to beef up my wardroom with sweaters, coats, and scarves.  Lately I've been saving up my money for a new pair of leather, brown riding boots and so far I have narrowed it down to this pair:

Aldo riding boots

Unfortunately while I was on my quest for brown boots, i found a pair of black suede Coach heeled boots as well. They are literally one of the prettiest pairs of shoes i've ever seen....the only problem is that they're $230.  I don't know if I can justify paying that much for them but so far i've come up with a few good reasons (including all the outfits I could pair them with and the fact that they will last a longggg time).  Knowing myself, I will probably end up buying them which will make me broke for the rest of the year. Worth it? I think so!

I'm also interested in buying a new coat. Here's some of my favorites:

Ralph Lauren

I love them both...I can't choose!!!!

New obsession: French Macarons

When I was in Spain I had the pleasure of trying a few different flavors of French macarons (or "macaroons" for Americans).  I had seen them before but honestly they never looked that appetizing...that is until I saw my favorite character, Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, eating them.  I figured I should at least try them and I am so very glad that I did!! I started out by trying a green one (lime) and a pink one (strawberry) and immediatly apon devouring these two, I went back to the cafe and bought one of each flavor!!  They are slightly crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside and melt in your mouth so perfectly that you'd think they were made by angels!! I know that sounds absured because I'm describing something as simple as a cookie but I have a serious sweet tooth and things like this really get me excited.

I have been searching south Florida for a bakery that holds macarons but unfortunately they arer very hard to track down! As soon as I go back to school at the end of them month, my best friends Stephanie and I will be setting out on a mission to find them. And when we do, I plan on stocking up just in case I can't find them for a while. Who knows, if I get to desperate, I might just have to try making them myself!

Summer Fun

The first week that I got back from Spain, Neil and I went to visit his family in Boston. We had a great time exploring the city even though we only had about 3 days there.  We had lunch on the top floor of the Prudential Center and wandered through Quincy market.  There were so many great things to see in the city that I wish we had had more time!

Because we're both baseball fans, Neil decided to take me to a Redsox game at Fenway park.  I'm actually a Marlins fan since I'm a South Florida girl but he's trying to convert me...we'll see how that goes...
The game was rain delayed about 2 1/2 hours so by the time it started it was already 9:30 at night.  It was pretty cold but we toughed it out because real fans stay the whole time!!! The game went into extra innings and the Sox lost in [i think] the 14th inning. Pity, but i'm sure they'll do better next time!

p.s the quality of the photos looks kinda weird because we forgot our cameras and were forced to buy a disposable one. Oh well!
